             Why Should You Join the Musicians Association? Well it's an Institution that is for Musicians which helps protect us and provide services for our needs. I don't see it as a typical union but one that is a representative of our art of providing quality music and musicians. I would encourage anyone to join the Union even if you have no need for its services, one day you might. There are so many perks for members that you should at least give it a once look over. Let me say that I am in no way a spokesperson, or have been asked to speak on their behalf but I feel it is necessary for those that are like me have always been unsure of unions. You have to view joining as more of a coming together with people with whom you have everything in common. It can help you with your career goals and networking is what it's all about in this Industry. The only things I utilize at the present is advertising in the International Musicians monthly paper and daily gig sheets emails. This is a great resource for finding gigs, information about our craft and so much more. You should check it out. I think there are so many stigmas with regard to Unions but I believe the Musicians Union is where its at. Their concerns are for our well-being and not for their own. So many people believe Unions are in the Business of making money but you can see that the Musicians union is primary focused on our welfare and success.
